Merge System To Move Database?

I've switched hosting services and need to get the MyBB database onto the new server before I drop my existing hosting service.. I've got the forum software installed on the new server but not the database. Both the old and new servers have the same version of MyBB software installed. Would the merge system work to do this? The new server has PostgreSQL installed on it but it doesn't seem to work with the MyBB database.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
